Power to Change (P2C) is an organization that seeks to collectively as well as individually, spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through movements of evangelism and discipleship. Athletes in Action (AIA) (a division of Power To Change) is a ministry that seeks to help people know Jesus and experience his power to change the world through sport. No matter what type of work those involved with Athletes in Action (AIA) do, whether they are staff or volunteers, we understand that our work collectively is to further this overall mission. Position Overview
All AIA Staff are responsible for aiding in the fulfillment of the mission and vision of Athletes in Action in their
respective spheres and beyond. Our hope is to see a world transformed by the gospel through sport and we
labour with God to see this happen.
During the campus season this role consists of helping those in varsity athletics discover Jesus, grow in their
faith, develop their unique potential and put their faith into action as they impact the world.
During the camp season this role consists of creating spaces for young children to hear and know Jesus
through the implementation of summer sport camps with partnering churches in the area. These sports
include soccer, basketball, volleyball and multi-sport . Through their position, coaches will engage with
athletes from the grassroots level, all the way to competitive athletes at the end of their high school careers.
Coaches will be expected to combat negative views of sport culture with the gospel, while inspiring churches
to reach their local community.
Primary Objectives:
In partnership with AthleteConnexion and working alongside your director, provide care for
athletes through discipleship and evangelism opportunities.
Equip students to become spiritual leaders in training how to share their faith, identify gifts for
kingdom impact and how to live out their Christian faith.
Assist with and attend National Training Camp, Retreat, and campus team meetings
Apply age and skill appropriate teaching techniques for sport specific skills and physical
literacy.
Work closely with the Regional Director, coaching team, church volunteers and additional AIA
staff to ensure the children are cared for, the community is reached and the gospel shared.
Attend coach’s training, camp meetings and orientations.
Assist in organizing events to give more athletes an opportunity to hear about Jesus, become a
part of AIA, or to make a decision to follow Jesus.
Assist in planning summer AIA Camps to help bring the gospel to children across the region.
Participate and present stories from ministry at both campus and camps team meetings
Education and Experience
You have bachelor’s degree or equivalent
You have previous athletic interest or experience
You have experience in sharing your faith
You have previous coaching experience with Athletes in Action (preferred, not required)
Requirements:
You have a deep and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
You have a passion and commitment to communicate and live out the gospel
You are committed to Athletes in Actions’ leadership, methods and ministry models
You have a heart for young children and young adults to know Jesus personally and walk with Him

You have verbal and written communication skills
You have strong empathy and Interpersonal skills
You enjoy meeting people and are comfortable having intentional conversations
You are a self-starter who enjoys taking initiative
You have Interested in the planning and coordination of events
You have the ability to manage your time effectively

Funding
Ministry Partner Development is the process of building a partnership team which provides financial and prayer support for the ministry. The financial support will cover the costs of the candidate’s salary and ministry expenses. Power to Change believes that Ministry Partner Development is biblical and God will provide everything necessary to fulfill the calling into ministry: finances, emotional strength and perseverance. Building a ministry partnership team is an integral part of being in ministry. There are many opportunities to bless and encourage the partnership team.
