Ministry Overview

Power to Change (P2C) is an organization that seeks to collectively as well as individually, spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through movements of evangelism and discipleship.

Power to Change – Students (P2C-Students) desires for every student to walk closer to Jesus and experience life in him. Our mission is to help students take their next step towards Jesus.

Within the Strategy and Operations department, we help students take their next step towards Jesus by coordinating the strategic planning process of the ministry and creating and managing infrastructure to effectively and efficiently deliver ministry objectives.

Position Overview

The Strategy and Operations Specialist will be overseeing several administrative processes and important national initiatives that help accelerate and support helping students live on mission. This key role will help steward the resources and people we have more effectively resulting in increased impact.

Primary Objectives:

  1. Lead the ministry in effective use of our volunteer ministry database and other ministry participant facing tools

    • Onboard and train staff in required use of Engage Spaces

    • Support users as first contact by addressing bugs and negotiating feature requests with developers as needed

    • Guide ministry towards adoption of user facing tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness

    • Ensure effective rollout and use of our Strategic Planning Process in the various departments and local campus teams

  2. Manage our alumni initiative

    • Invite our alumni to an engaging community to help continue their faith growth they experienced as a student

    • Provide opportunities to participate in different cohort groups in partnership with other ministries of Power to Change, like LeaderImpact and FamilyLife

    • Build relationships with P2C-S alumni through regular communication and invitation to alumni specific events and opportunities

  3. Give leadership to effectively make use of Leading with Information (LWI) initiatives

    • Provide relevant and helpful metrics and data for the ministry

    • Train our staff and student leaders on how to use data from collected metrics to inform plans and strategic decisions

    • Maintain a metric dashboard that regularly informs stakeholders information that marks progress towards goals and outcomes

Other Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance and participation of weekly tactical team meetings

  • Familiarize and invest in relationships with other Operation colleagues within Power to Change, Canada and with our global Cru partners

  • Maintain a healthy MPD

  • Assist in initiatives as they come up within the Strategy and Operations team

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in online tools

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a remote team environment

  • Excellent asynchronous communication skills

  • Established administrative skill with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to synthesize, analyze and summarize information for useful decision making

 Education and Experience

  • 2+ years of operational capacity experience

  • Bachelor degree from a post secondary institution or equivalent

  • Familiarity with Power to Change an asset

A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a pre-existing belief and demonstration of lifestyle as outlined in the P2C Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith and abide by the biblical principles outlined in these documents

Funding

This position requires Ministry Partner Development. The successful candidate will have the privilege to build a partnership team which provides financial and prayer support for the ministry. The financial support will cover the costs of the candidate’s salary and ministry expenses. Power to Change believes that Ministry Partner Development is biblical and God will provide everything necessary to fulfill the calling into ministry: finances, emotional strength and perseverance. Building a ministry partnership team is an integral part of being in ministry. There are many opportunities to bless and encourage the partnership team.
