POSITION SUMMARY

Bridges staff work with their local team, building meaningful relationships with students from around the world.  The staff member will help run programs or events that meet the practical, social and spiritual needs of students. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Live out our kingdom objectives with your team (Face-to-face ministry) – 55%

  • Initiate and develop authentic relationships with international students 

  • Organize and host regular social, cultural and spiritual events to welcome and engage students.  

  • Serve as a cultural bridge, helping students adapt to life in Canada.

  • Share the gospel clearly and respectfully across cultural and religious boundaries.

  • Provide one-on-one and small group discipleship for interested students and new believers.

  • Encourage spiritual growth and biblical understanding among international students.


  1.  Plan and prepare for effective ministry – 25%

  • Establish regular times of prayer for God’s wisdom and direction in the ministry.

  • Attend weekly or monthly Bridges staff team meetings (in person), and weekly National Bridges prayer meetings (online)

  • Engage in ongoing training (Bridges monthly meetings, Bridges staff training)

  • Complete any homework and/or training assignments as prescribed by your trainer on time and with excellence

  • Plan well for discipleship and leadership opportunities

  • Understand and complete any administrative tasks related to your position in a timely and professional manner (emails, reimbursements, HR forms, registrations, submitting measurements, etc.)

  • Practice and master any digital and/or physical tools required for your role


  1. Ministry Partner Development & Care – 10%

  • Partner with local churches and volunteers to involve them in outreach and mentoring efforts.

  • Develop and maintain a team of prayer and financial partners.

  • Provide regular reports to your supervisor.


  1. Engage in National Priorities – 10%

  • Participate in National and Regional events and initiatives. Assist in planning and execution of retreats and mission trips.

  • Attend the December Gathering (in person) for all P2C - Student  staff.

  • Attend the bi-annual staff conference for all P2C staff.


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Committed to Christ’s global cause in general, and international student ministry in particular.

  2. Growing in a vital relationship with Christ and meets the leadership qualities of 1 Timothy 3:1-7. 

  3. Heart of a servant leader. 

  4. Good people and relationship-building skills.

  5. Strong cross-cultural understanding and communication skills.

  6. Great team-player. 

  7. Commitment to forging connections and partnerships with other mission organizations, local churches, denominational leaders.

  8. Multilingual or experience living/working cross-culturally is highly valued.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduation from a post-secondary institution

  • Relatable ministry experience

FUNDING:

Ministry Partner Development (MPD) is the process of building a partnership team which provides financial and prayer support for your personal ministry. The financial support will cover the costs of the candidate’s salary and ministry expenses. Power to Change believes that Ministry Partner Development is biblical, a privilege and an integral part of being in ministry. Power to Change is committed to providing training and coaching that ensures success in Ministry Partner Development.
