Position Overview
Oversee whole process of coaching churches (team leaders, pastors, etc.) from interest to successful launch of new Conversation Cafés across Canada
Work with Training Coordinator, who will help with administration and communication
Collaborate in the continued development and editing of Conversation Café training material and other tool training
Primary Objectives
Intercultural Stream team member
Engage on the Intercultural Stream team in strategic planning and decision-making for intercultural ministry
Attend the monthly Connecting Streams team meetings
Attend Intercultural monthly team meetings and any training events specific to the ministry (as is reasonable with committed hours)
Coach new Conversation Cafés from inquiry to launch
In relationship with team leaders and pastors, answer questions and coach the leaders through the steps of beginning a Conversation Café
Train team leaders / stats reporters on the use of Engage Spaces
Encourage and pray with and for the new Conversation Café leaders
Communicate and collaborate with Training Coordinator on the administration with coaching
After successful launch, pass the Café to the regional/LINK leader
Continued training material development
Collaborate with other team members in the continued development and editing of Conversation Cafe training material
Assist team members with the development of training for other Intercultural tools
Secondary Objectives
City team member (if hours permit and there is a city team)
Fully engage on the staff team in strategic planning and decision making for the city
Work with the National Intercultural Ministry Leader to develop and implement a strategic plan and achieve objectives
Attend all local CS training, celebrations, and meetings specific to the ministry
Required Skills & Abilities
Deep, growing, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to use Google Suite or equivalent
Administrative skills, personal organization, good stewardship of time
Self-motivation, team builder, able to work independently
Genuine desire to see people’s lives transformed by Jesus
Ability to relate well with churches and other Christian organizations
Education and Experience
Training/teaching education/experience - 2 years
Cross-cultural experience is an asset
Church ministry leadership is an asset
Time: approximately 10-20 hours / week
Options:
Associate staff with salary: This position requires Ministry Partner Development where the successful candidate will be required to build a team which provides financial and prayer support for salary and ministry expenses (minimum 10 hours / week).
OR
Volunteer affiliate or associate staff: Where the candidate is able to be financially independent, they may volunteer for this position (but can still open an account where they can raise support to be reimbursed for expenses incurred).
Other Requirements
A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a pre-existing belief and demonstration of lifestyle as outlined in the P2C Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith and abide by the biblical principles outlined in these documents.
