Global Aid Network Canada (GAiN) is a worldwide humanitarian relief and development organization dedicated to relieving suffering, restoring dignity, and revealing hope to people living in some of the toughest places on earth.
Restoring Lives: GAiN’s passion is to ease the challenging living situations that people experience in everyday life in developing countries by providing them with the tools and resources they require.

Position Overview
The Copywriter & Communications Coordinator will have a heart for compassionate activity and humanitarian work. This role will add capacity to GAiN’s marketing and communications and the Donor Advancement (DA) Team by working on various projects and tasks necessary to fulfill organizational goals and objectives.
Primary Outcomes:
This role will be held accountable to achieve the following outcomes:
Research & Content Creation: (80%)
Donors and partners will be up to date and informed with fresh content on the ministry of GAiN
Monthly enewsletters for core strategies are created and distributed, and contact lists are maintained and updated
Content is generated and written for quarterly partnership reports, weekly GAiN blog posts, disaster communications, annual reports, external publications, ebooks and whitepapers, media releases, etc.
Printed marketing materials are maintained with current information and photos (LIFE teams brochures, WFLI brochures, GAiN brochures, etc.)
Regular stories are curated and added to the GAiN story bank
Download photos from mWater and organize in folders on p-drive for future publications
Staff and LIFE Team participants are interviewed after traveling to the field
Consistent messaging is monitored in order to ensure voice is clearly communicated
Edit or review other pieces as necessary (internal documents, proposals, etc.)
Weekly Prayer Emails are sent out
Research and write grant proposals as needed and directed by supervisor
Website Content Management: (10%)
GAiN is maintained with up-to-date information, new country pages, water wells, statistics, stories and pictures
Chat messages (from website) are replied to
Comments from blog posts are monitored
Social Media (5%):
Contribute to Editorial Calendar - both in ideation and planning
Copy is written and basic graphics are designed (using Canva or Adobe Spark) for social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok) in coordination with other Marketing and Communications team members and the Marketing and Communications Editorial Calendar
GAiN events, campaigns and awareness days are promoted effectively (i.e. weekly posts that encourage engagement with users)
Social listening are exercised by monitoring user posts and messages (shared responsibility with other Marketing team member)
Collaboration and Support: (5%)
Work with Marketing & Communication team to meet any organizational rebranding needs
Participate in one-on-one meetings, DA meetings, and any other strategic meetings
Part of editorial team
Logistics and set-up support is given leading up to and during events (i.e. Missions Fest, fundraising events, etc.)
Support the Development team in capturing attendee information so they can record it in the CRM
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Communications is an asset
2+ years of communications or equivalent experience
Experience in a non-profit working environment is an asset
