The Opportunity
Power to Change is at a defining moment.
We are stepping more fully into our calling as a Hub of Evangelism for the next generation—catalyzing fresh imagination, collaboration, strategies, and resourcing that mobilize followers of Jesus into His mission across Canada and beyond.
Leaders will play a decisive role in shaping what comes next. The Director of Leader Strategies is central to that mandate.
This is more than leading an established ministry. It is a catalytic mandate to mobilize and multiply leaders as a primary engine for mission—fueling the growth of 10,000+ Communities on Mission across Canada and beyond.
This role is anchored in LeaderImpact, a nationally established marketplace ministry, and extends beyond it. LeaderImpact currently operates in 37 cities across Canada, with 145 groups, 232 leaders, and more than 1,400 members, supported by a national team of 30 staff and affiliates.
The opportunity now is to build from this foundation by defining and advancing a broader vision that:
Mobilizes leaders across multiple sectors as a primary engine for mission
Expands beyond current models into a more integrated and scalable leader strategy
Engages and releases a new generation of leaders on mission
Builds momentum toward a vision of thousands of communities transformed through the gospel
We are seeking a leader who has demonstrated meaningful success and influence in the marketplace and now senses a deeper calling to steward their leadership, experience, and networks for significant Kingdom impact.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a national and international movement of leaders on mission—and to help unlock their influence for the sake of the gospel.
About Power to Change
Power to Change’s vision is to be a Hub of Evangelism for the next generation—catalysing 10,000+ Communities on Mission across Canada and to the world over the next 5–10 years.
This vision builds on a core mission that has remained unchanged since our earliest days: to catalyse, equip, and support communities of believers to live on mission and make Jesus known—especially among those not currently being reached.
For nearly 60 years, Power to Change has been a catalytic force for evangelism in Canada. Today, we engage across five key mission contexts—students, sport, leaders, families, and global—supported by catalytic expressions that enable innovation and new models of mission.
We are a national movement of over 450 staff, mobilising thousands of believers, and stewarding an annual budget of nearly $40 million.
What lies ahead will require a renewed vision and bold rethinking of how we call, form, and deploy leaders—fueling a movement that is multiplying, Spirit-led, and reaching far beyond our current impact.
Leadership
Reporting to Andy Smits, Executive Director of Next Generation, the Director of Leader Strategies serves on a national leadership team of mission context leaders, working collaboratively to advance Power to Change’s shared vision, strategic priorities, and mission outcomes.
This includes:
Shaping and executing strategies for leaders in alignment with P2C’s national vision
Contributing to organizational priorities, collaboration, and shared outcomes
Building alignment and momentum across ministries, mission contexts, and partnerships
Representing Power to Change among marketplace, church, and national leaders
This role carries both national and international leadership responsibility and movement-building influence.
The Mandate
Flowing from this leadership responsibility, the Director leads the development and execution of Leader Strategies—mobilizing leaders across Canada as a driving force for mission and multiplication.
This work centres on six interconnected priorities:
Leader Strategies & Pathways
Define and build a clear, compelling strategy for how leaders across Canada are engaged, equipped, and mobilized into mission—creating pathways from initial engagement through to multiplication, aligned with the vision of catalysing thousands of Communities on Mission.
Innovation & Expansion
Extend beyond current LeaderImpact models into a broader ecosystem of leader engagement—developing new expressions that reach emerging and next-generation leaders through relational, digital, and catalytic approaches.
Movement Growth & Multiplication
Strengthen and multiply communities of leaders living on mission—reinforcing core philosophies such as leaders reaching leaders, and building scalable models for sustained growth and gospel impact across cities, sectors, and networks.
Leadership & Culture
Build and lead a high-capacity national team and leadership community—cultivating a culture of leaders who live and lead on mission, and strengthening leadership pipelines for future growth.
Strategic Platforms & Partnerships
Strengthen, expand, and strategically evolve key platforms and partnerships that extend reach and accelerate mission, including:
LeaderImpact NEXT
Christian Embassy
Quebec (AVAD model)
Global and LeaderImpact Exchanges
Church and ministry partnerships
Funding & Sustainability
Lead the development of a sustainable and scalable funding model that fuels long-term movement growth—engaging and inspiring major donors, strengthening resource development strategies, and contributing directly to fundraising efforts, including raising approximately $400,000 annually to support national strategy.
What Success Looks Like
In the first 3 years, success in this role will be evident in:
A clear and compelling Leader Strategies vision that is widely owned and aligned with P2C’s national direction
A growing movement of leaders across multiple sectors actively living on mission, resulting in the multiplication of Communities on Mission across Canada
Expanded and diversified pathways engaging both established and emerging leaders
Scalable models that enable sustained growth and multiplication across regions and sectors
A strong and developing leadership pipeline within Leader Strategies and across its platforms
Strategic partnerships that significantly extend reach, influence, and mission impact
The Leader We’re Looking For
We are seeking a leader who builds movements, not just ministries.
This person will be:
A deeply committed follower of Jesus, aligned with the mission and calling of Power to Change
A visionary and entrepreneurial leader, able to translate bold ideas into scalable strategy
A catalyst who mobilizes leaders and unlocks their influence for mission
A developer of leaders who identifies and multiplies leadership capacity
Credible and relational across both marketplace and ministry contexts
Comfortable leading through complexity, change, and growth
They bring:
Proven senior leadership experience across marketplace and ministry
A track record of building or scaling organizations, movements, or strategic initiatives
Strong strategic thinking combined with execution capability
Experience engaging leaders, partners, and stakeholders at a national level
Familiarity with fundraising or resource development
Why This Role Matters
Power to Change’s vision to catalyse 10,000+ Communities on Mission will not be realized without leaders. The Director of Leader Strategies will ensure that:
Leaders are mobilized as catalysts for impact
Pathways exist for leaders to engage, grow, and multiply in mission
Influence is extended across sectors, cities, and generations
This is a rare opportunity to help shape a national movement of leaders—and to see their influence leveraged for lasting gospel impact.
