Position Overview

About the Role

In this role, as part of the FamilyLife Canada National Leadership Team, you will help lead FLC as we work to help fulfil the Great Commission by partnering with churches and volunteers to help people know Jesus and experience His power to change the world.  Your focus will be staff training and leadership development so that we have a growing, healthy, well-equipped staff and teams who are involved in fruitful, Spirit-led, multiplying ministry and who feel supported and cared-for.  You will work closely with the FamilyLife Executive Leadership (FLex) Team and Strategy Team and the P2C Human Resources (HR) Department.  You will be responsible for achieving the following objectives:

Primary Objectives:

As part of the FamilyLife National Leadership Team: 

  • Walk in the Spirit, help others to know Jesus and experience His power to change the world, model FamilyLife’s core values, and work towards national goals

  • Be part of the broader P2C LDHR network 

    • Serve as the liaison between FLC and P2C LDHR 

    • Review staff applications and work with P2C HR in the application process

    • Assist with New Staff Orientation if needed

    • Implement the Leadership Framework within FLC

  • Develop and provide structure, processes, opportunities and training to support healthy, growing, effective FLC staff and teams 

  • Attend Strategy Team meetings to help identify and advocate for staff training needs & development opportunities

  • Work closely with the FLex Team and attend quarterly National Leadership Team meetings to set LDHR priorities in line with national goals

  • Work alongside the National Directors to provide training for national staff gatherings and meetings

As the Director of LDHR

  • Work with the National Directors to develop and implement an LDHR strategic plan and budget aligned with National goals

  • Work with the FLex and Strategy Teams to identify and provide staff training needed to effectively execute national initiatives

  • Work with Staff Supervisors to support and/or resource staff in achieving their short-term and long-term leadership and development goals, as recorded in their Staff Objectives and Development Cycle forms (SODC’s - mandatory for Associate and Commissioned Staff, optional for Affiliate Staff) 

  • Develop training manuals, resources, and tracking to guide FLC staff to growing maturity and effectiveness specific to: 1) onboarding, 2) the first 2 years, 3) years 3 to 5, 4) senior staff, and 5) engaging affiliate staff

Participate in at least one Family and Marriage Ministry Network

  • Inspire, equip, and work with churches and networks of volunteers to live on mission 

  • Initiate and maintain relationships with partnering churches to help them develop and implement effective marriage ministries


Other Responsibilities & Opportunities

  • Upon acceptance, immediate participation in ‘Your first 100 days’ training from LDHR.org is required

  • Participate in the monthly President’s Chapel

  • Attend and participate in the bi-annual International Day of Prayer

  • Attend and participate in P2C Staff Conferences (bi-annual) 

  • Complete special projects as assigned by the National Directors

Education and Experience

Preference will be given to applicants with some or all of the following:

  • P2C field staff experience 

  • Experience with FLC 

  • A university degree or equivalent 

  • Leadership Development work experience 

  • Experience leading and developing a team, ideally in a ministry setting

Funding 

This position requires Ministry Partner Development.  The position is 20 to 40 hours/week.
