Connecting Streams equips and mobilizes the Church to help society’s vulnerable populations know Jesus and experience His power to change the world. Through partnerships and teams, we build trusting relationships that foster faith and hope.
Position Overview
Build & Develop. Build a strong team of Long Term Care (LTC) leaders who will support the development and expansion of Connecting Streams (CS) in the GTA and across Canada. Identify and train local leaders to guide volunteer teams serving seniors and LTC residents.
Establish & Expand. Build, establish and expand LTC network of new church partners and church volunteer teams in the GTA and across Canada
Strengthen & Support. Work alongside existing LTC teams nationwide to ensure leaders are properly trained, supported by sustainable volunteer bases, and equipped with the LTC ministry tools and materials.
Lead & Represent. Serve on the Connecting Streams Executive Team, contributing to Spirit-led vision, leadership, and national ministry development. Act as a liaison representing CS with volunteers, churches, organizations, agencies, and at related events.
Resource & Sustain. Build a strong, diversified donor base to support long-term sustainability.
Primary Objectives
1. Build & Develop
Build a Christ-centered ministry team committed to prayer, relationship-building, and gospel proclamation.
Supervising and shepherding staff team members in their work duties and lives
Develop a yearly strategic plan for both local and national expansion.
2. Expand & Establish
Expand the GTA LTC network by launching new teams and growing the network annually, with specific targets and measurable objectives to be set collaboratively each year by the employee and their supervisor.
Explore, pilot, and establish new ministry models for seniors, caregivers, and LTC residents that can be scaled across Canada.
Act as a liaison and represent CS in key relationships with volunteers, churches, agencies, and partners.
3. Strengthen & Support
Expand the LTC network by launching new teams and fostering consistent annual growth, with specific objectives and measurable targets to be set collaboratively with the employee’s supervisor.
Attend CS training, celebrations, citywide gatherings, and national events.
4. Lead & Represent
Oversee staff and volunteers through training, mentoring, coaching, conflict management, and performance evaluations.
Participate as a member of the executive team, contributing through regular meetings, prayerful support, discernment processes, and collaborative strategic planning to guide the ministry’s direction.
5. Resource & Sustain
This role requires adaptability, as responsibilities may pivot, change or expand based on the ongoing needs of the ministry.
Raise the ministry’s annual budget through developing financial and prayer partnerships. This role is initially supported by partially declining grants over five years,with the hope of continued support thereafter. This will provide time to establish a sustainable funding base.
Skills, Abilities & Experience
A deep, growing, and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ
5+ years of relevant ministry and/or related work experience
Able to relate well with churches and other Christian organizations
A self-starter who takes initiative and follows projects through to completion
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Google Suite
Strong administrative and organizational skills; a good steward of time
Self-motivated, able to work independently, and skilled at building and supporting teams
A genuine desire to see the Church mobilized and vulnerable populations transformed by Jesus
Ability to cast vision and lead others in developing and implementing strategic plans
Confident public speaking skills in both small and large group settings
Ability to lead others spiritually, regardless of their spiritual starting point
Other Requirements
A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a pre-existing belief and demonstration of lifestyle as outlined in the P2C Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith and abide by the biblical principles outlined in these documents.
Funding
This position requires Ministry Partner Development where the successful candidate will be required to build a team which provides financial and prayer support for salary and ministry expenses including benefits coverage.
OR
Where the candidate is able to be financially independent, they may volunteer for this position with the expectation that they will serve as associate staff (minimum 25 hours).
