Position Overview
The Ottawa Prayer Igniter will work with local city staff and the National Prayer Igniter to foster a culture of prayer among staff and volunteers. They will work with others to facilitate prayer gatherings for the ministries of CS and to equip others to pray.
Primary Objectives:
Local Prayer Igniter:
Recruit and maintain a team of CS intercessors to pray intentionally for CS ministry in Ottawa
Revise and send out prayer requests from teams to intercessors weekly using the CS Database
Work with local staff and volunteers to plan and carry out weekly days of prayer and fasting
Work with other city staff to equip volunteers on how to pray and how to teach others to pray
Develop and maintain partnership with other local prayer ministries to pray for CS outreach in Ottawa
Connect with City Stream Leaders regularly to gain insights on prayer needs for their teams and share these with the intercessor team
Intentionally pray for your staff team and volunteers regularly
City Team Member:
Fully engage on the city staff team in strategic planning discernment and decision making for the city
Attend all local CS Training, Celebration and meeting events specific to prayer for CS
National Team Member
Work with the National Prayer Igniter to develop and implement a strategic plan for prayer and achieve objectives
Send general prayer requests for CS Ottawa ministry to the National Prayer Igniter on a regular basis
Work with other prayer staff to plan and facilitate CS Monthly Prayer call
Education and Experience
Experience in effectively leading others
Experience in leading prayer teams and calling others to prayer
Experience in teaching others how to pray
Required Skills and Abilities
A deep, growing, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ
Solid foundational understanding of Scripture
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to teach about prayer and how to pray
Able to use Google Suite or equivalent
Administrative skills, personally organized, good steward of time
Self-motivated, team builder, able to work independently
A genuine desire to see people’s lives transformed by Jesus
Skill in leading people spiritually regardless of spiritual context
Ability to relate well with Churches and other Christian Organizations
Other Requirements
A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a pre-existing belief and demonstration of lifestyle as outlined in the P2C Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith and abide by the biblical principles outlined in these documents.
Funding
This position requires Ministry Partner Development where the successful candidate will be required to build a team which provides financial and prayer support for salary and ministry expenses including benefits coverage.
OR
Where the candidate is able to be financially independent, they may volunteer for this position with the expectation that they will serve as Associate or Affiliate staff (minimum 10 hours per week).
