Position Overview:
The Staff Development & Operations manager gives leadership to various operations and staff activities at GAiN. Alongside the COO and operations team, this position fills a GAiN specific HR role in coordination with Power to Change HR as well as takes an active role in the ongoing staff development and care of the team.
Primary Outcomes
This role will be held accountable to achieve the following outcomes:
Staff Development & GAiN Human Resources:
As the MPD Care Coordinator for GAiN, staff on MPD and mid career staff are supported and encouraged in the MPD journey through effective coaching, monthly MPD breakfasts and ongoing dialogue around MPD
New staff are on boarded effectively both from an HR/operations perspective as well as receiving accurate orientation and welcome to their role at GAiN
Staff health and staff care are made priority through ongoing HR support and development initiatives
Yearly GAiN staff retreat and team days are executed successfully
Acting as the hiring manager for GAiN, recruiting and hiring is initiated in conjunction with Power to Change HR
Ongoing HR requests and needs unique to GAiN are handled confidentially and professionally, seeking a solution best for both the staff and overall organization
The Birkman assessment and other resources are utilized to strengthen the staff team (Global Leadership summit, First Aid Training etc.)
2. GAiN Operations:
Bi-weekly staff meetings are facilitated appropriately with effort given to cover timely topics as well as proactive subjects
Weekly prayer meetings and monthly Praise Celebrations are facilitated effectively with thought given to remote staff
7% GAiN monthly transfers are done accurately and timely
Quarterly ministry statistics and ministry activity is collated and reported on accurately
Event contracts are managed for fundraising and team events (as needed)
Administrative support to operations team (as needed)
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3-5 years working in a Relief and Development Ministry or other related ministry/industry experience in an international development setting
Required Skills and Abilities
To demonstrate a passionate, mature and disciplined Christian life.
A passion for humanitarian aid seeking to demonstrate the love of God in Word and Deed
Effective communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Able to work with minimum of supervision
Problem solver – critical thinker. Able to look at a situation from a 360° perspective
Able to work from a Google Suite platform
Quickly able to adapt in a cross-cultural setting and in working with government officials
Technical skills/aptitude would be considered an asset
Able to travel internationally (hold or can obtain a valid passport) and perform in a variety of cross-cultural settings
As this position works with children in an international context, the successful applicant will be required to complete a criminal record check and vulnerable sector search
Other Requirements:

Funding
This position requires Ministry Partner Development. The successful candidate will have the privilege to build a partnership team which provides financial and prayer support for the ministry. The financial support will cover the costs of the candidate’s salary and ministry expenses. Power to Change believes that Ministry Partner Development is biblical and God will provide everything necessary to fulfill the calling into ministry: finances, emotional strength and perseverance. Building a ministry partnership team is an integral part of being in ministry. There are many opportunities to bless and encourage the partnership team.
