Power to Change – Students (P2C-Students) longs for a day when no student graduates without engaging in the life-transforming message of Jesus. Position Overview

As a Content Creator and Writer, you will help P2C-Students produce content and communications that inspire, resource and inform students, staff, volunteers, donors and the public. Through creative thoughts, writing and campaign development, you will develop content designed to help students wrestle with gospel concepts and how they apply to life, grow in their love for Jesus, and deepen their faith journey with Him.

You will serve as part of the broader Creative Communications team that helps increase the impact of P2C-Students by shaping culture, producing innovative resources and experiences to help young adults discover Jesus and be equipped for a lifetime of ministry.

Primary Outcomes

This role will be held accountable to achieving the following outcomes:

Production of creative content and written materials

  • Alongside the Creative Communications team, the staff member is writing original, creative content for a variety of communication platforms and initiatives including – but not limited to – video scripts, blog articles, newsletters, special events content and advertisements, social media posts, and ministry resources for evangelism and discipleship.

  • Written material and content for donor reports, internal communications, conferences, etc are being completed with excellence and on time.

  • The Creative Communications team is able to produce relevant content for its various audiences, inviting people to participate in the ministry’s mission.

  • The Creative Communications team’s need for editing and proofreading are being met effectively and accurately

Strategy Planning & Campaign Creation

  • The staff member is participating in strategy development and campaign design for Creative Communications projects, as needed, to help the team advance in its strategic initiatives.

  • The Creative Communications team is effective at creating resources, tools, and social media campaigns that minister to today’s students connecting the themes of the gospel to the issues of the day.

  • Creative and innovative ways of providing content to the audiences of Creative Communications are being explored and tested.

Spiritual Growth and Leadership Development

  • The staff member is growing as a leader who is Christ-like in character and full of faith

  • The staff member is pursuing excellence in their responsibilities

  • The staff member has a growing relationship with Jesus

This position also requires Ministry Partner Development where the successful candidate will be required to build a team which provides financial and prayer support for salary and ministry expenses including benefits coverage.

Education & Experience

  • University degree or equivalent. Focus in English, Communications, Journalism or related field is valuable.

  • Experience in writing and developing creative content preferred

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written (English), including the ability to write in and adapt to various writing styles and formats

  • Exhibits a detailed knowledge of grammar, spelling, and style

  • Thrive under tight deadlines and be able to develop communications on demand

  • Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with staff at all levels in the organization, independently or in a team environment

  • Convert complex information into commonly used language, easily understood by a general audience

  • Ability to shape writing style to meet the needs of specific audiences

  • Committed to evangelism, prayer and gospel-centered communication

  • Enjoy working in a team

  • Be able to positively receive feedback and take direction

Other Requirements

A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a pre-existing belief and demonstration of lifestyle as outlined in the P2C Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith and abide by the biblical principles outlined in these documents.

This position requires Ministry Partner Development. The successful candidate will have the privilege to build a partnership team which provides financial and prayer support for the ministry. The financial support will cover the costs of the candidate’s salary and ministry expenses. Power to Change believes that Ministry Partner Development is biblical and God will provide everything necessary to fulfill the calling into ministry: finances, emotional strength and perseverance. Building a ministry partnership team is an integral part of being in ministry. There are many opportunities to bless and encourage the partnership team. Power to Change is committed to providing training and coaching that ensures success in Ministry Partner Development.
